Dad celebrates 50th with Bollywood Taj Mahal cake!
When a Knoxville father and daughter celebrated their birthdays together, DCC went all out to bring their beautiful Indian culture into the design of their cakes (see also the Aladdin cake for the daughter's Sweet 16 cake). This custom cake design incorporated the client's party theme of Bollywood and features an edible gold dome to mimic the Taj Mahal's iconic architectural design. We even incorporated some of India's most popular movie images for pictures on the completely edible movie reel. The dome is made from Rice Krispy Treats and painted with an edible gold glaze.
Aladdin Cake for Sweet 16 in Knoxville
Jasmin, Genie, Aladdin and Magic Carpet went on an adventure in Cake Land for this Sweet 16 birthday celebration. The event was held at Hunter Valley Farms in Knoxville. The cake is chocolate and strawberry with chocolate buttercream covered in rolled fondant with gumpaste figures. Jasmin's Taj Mahal style castle is completely edible too. It's gumpaste except for the larger center dome that was made out of Rice Krispy Treats, and painted with an edible gold glaze. This cake is a wish come true for any Disney Princess Jasmin fan!
Barbie Cake with a Modern Twist!
For this modern girly Barbie cake, I had the pleasure of colaborating with Knoxville's budding cake designer, seven year old Lily! As a fan of Ace of Cakes, Lily sketches her own designs, and contributed some great ideas for this custom cake.
Piano Keyboard Cake begs to be played!
This Yamaha PSS-130 piano keyboard cake was made for a very special young man from Kingston who was turning 31. Steven, who has Down's Syndrome, is a huge fan of his Yamaha PSS-130 piano keyboard. For is birthday, his mom wanted to do something special this year, so she had me create a replica of his actual keyboard in cake. Apparently, he was so thrilled with the cake, he kept trying to play it! What an honor it was for me to play a part in creating a sweet treat for this special person. Happy Birthday Steven!

This custom dog birthday cake was designed for a little girl who loves her golden retreiver, named Greta. The cake is chocolate with vanilla buttercream. The dog bowl and food is fondant. The bone, bow, and collar are also fondant. The lettering is hand painted.

The high heel shoe, the monogram, and the cupcake shoes and bows were all made out of gumpaste. The "happy birthday" plaque was hand painted.
